I enjoyed meeting !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! at Exotics at RTC. The links in their handles above go to their excellent photo dumps. There isn’t much I can really add, but thought I’d throw up my pictures as well.

Bad ass Cobra (which, as the others have already said, was probably a replica...we discussed whether it would preferable to have a replica to the real thing, so that you could actually drive it without worrying too much about the reliability of old parts or wrecking a valuable classic).

The thing that jumps out at me when seeing an F40 in person is is all the delicate, lightweight parts—lots of plastic and chicken wire.

NSXy. The one on the right looked well loved and regularly driven; the one on the left looked dusty, cobwebby, and a little sad.

There were lots of 911s, but this one was my favorite.

French turbo power!

This isn’t my usual style even as a big BMW guy, but this E36 just pushed all the right buttons for me. Note the Hummer glowering in the background.

Shelby GT500 vents. The engine compartment was in amazingly stock condition, down to the battery test sticker dated May 1967.

The two cars I wish one of us had taken pictures of: a green Rolls Royce station wagon with a vinyl-covered roof—sort of a bizarro-world landau wagon—and a black-on-black E92 M3 with all kinds of carbon fiber intake business under the hood and one of the best (loud) exhausts I’ve ever heard. After the meet I ended up cruising down the road with the M3 for a couple minutes just drinking in the noise, and then followed one of the Porsches across the lake.

I just finished college, but I’ll never afford these cars. The meetups look like tons of fun, but I’d be embarrassed to bring my 94 altima to any of these unless I parked 3 blocks away.

Excellent use of the word glowering.

It was really for the novelty of it all. I was more interested in the Renault and the MR2 in the parking lot than anything else.

Next time around, I’m looking for a show that features some old Japanese cars or cool old German mobiles.
